Graduated from the Department of Chinese Herbology Nanjing College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (presently Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine) in January 1982 and gained the master’s degree from Zhejiang University in March 1999;

Currently serves as director of Zhejiang Province Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine and expert included in the CFDA drug reviewers bank and the CFDA Adverse Reactions Monitoring Center expert bank, as well as editorial board member for Chinese Journal Modern Applied Pharmacy and member of the board of Chinese Pharmaceutical Association Zhejiang Branch;

Is mainly engaged in the research of new drug formulations and new technologies and the research of the material basis for Chinese medicine pharmaco-dynamics and the innovation of new drugs;

In recent years, has chaired the MoST project “Pilot Trial and Application ofthe Food CompoundMytilus Edulis Capsules to Assist Blood Lipid Reduction”, Zhejiang Major Sci-Tech Specialties, including “The Development and Pilot Trial of New Products and Intelligent Cutting-Extraction-Drying-Extraction Equipment for Gardenia and Other Chinese Herbs”, “Research of Chinese Medicine Active Constituents Separation Technology – Supercritical Fluid Extraction”, “Research of Column Chromatography Integrated Technology in Separating Hypoglycemic Active Constituents fromSchisandra Chinensis”, and “Research of the Extraction of Coltsfoot Active Constituents and the Development of New Anti-allergy Drug”;

Has gained one 2^ndprize and three 3^rdprizes for Zhejiang Sci-Tech Progress and 8 national patents for invention; and

Has published a dozen of research papers.
