Graduated from Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine; then studied in former Toyama Medical and Pharmaceutical University and obtained the doctor’s degree in pharmacy in 1996; between 1998.10 and 1999.10, as a senior visiting scholar, practiced in U.S. XenoBiotic Laboratories;

Currently serves as vice president of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine, adjunct professor of ZJ CMU, and director of Chinese Medicine Processing Tech Research Center;

In the meantime, is a leader of Chinese medicine specialty under national Important Specialties/disciplines program and of Chinese medicine pharmaceutics specialty under SATCM Important Specialties/Disciplines Program, as well as a provincial (Jiangsu Province) and national young and middle-aged expert with outstanding contributions and entitled to special government allowance of the State Council, member of review panel of National Natural Science Foundation of China, member of Chinese Pharmacopoeia Commission, member of new medicine review panel of Chinese Food and Drug Administration, and a Tier-1 and Tier-2 candidate for National “Hundreds”, “Thousands”, and “Ten Thousands” of Trans-century Academic Leaders, a member listed in Jiangsu Province “333” Scheme and “Summit of Six Categories of Talents”, and Jiangsu Distinguished Scientific and Technological Worker;

In recent years, has chaired 19 national tasks and 25 provincial and ministerial tasks; has published 10 textbooks and monographs as chief editor, and more than 320 papers on pharmaceutical journals at home and abroad, over 30 of which are cited by SCI; and has won a number of national prizes for scientific and technological progress with respect to his achievements in research;

Has developed 9 new medicines, 6 of which have gained approvals for clinical research and 1 of which has been granted the new medicine manufacturing license (“Shu-guan Capsules”);

Has gained 4 patents for invention, revealed 12 patents to the public, and filed 6 patent applications;

Has trained two doctors for ZJ CMU and now is mentoring 1 doctoral candidate and 14 graduate candidates.
