Graduated from Heilong University of Chinese Medicine in 1975, was allocated as an instructor to Jiamusi TCM College in October 1975, and was transferred to the Department of Traumatology and Orthopaedics of the Hospital Affiliated to Zhejiang Chinese Medical College (former of ZJ CMU) in September 1979, starting the career in clinical, teaching and research work;

From January 1986, had served as vice president and president of the Hospital Affiliated to Zhejiang Chinese Medical College and then deputy dean of Zhejiang Chinese Medical College;

In October 1995, was promoted to the position of dean of Zhejiang Chinese Medical College and then to the position of president of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University in May 2006;

From 1998 till now, has been holding the post of director of Zhejiang Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedics;

Also holds concurrent posts as deputy director of China Association of Chinese Medicine Traumatology and Orthopaedics Subcommittee, deputy director of CACM O steoarthritis Subcommittee , deputy director of China Association of Integrative Medicine Traumatology and Orthopaedics Subcommittee, vice president of Zhejiang Province Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine, vice president of Zhejiang Association of Integrative Medicine, director of ZJAIM Traumatology and Orthopaedics Subcommittee, standing member of the board of Chinese Medical Association Zhejiang Branch, deputy director of CMA Zhejiang Orthopaedics Subcommittee, and vice president of Zhejiang Anti-Cancer Association;

Has completed a dozen of tasks and projects under his leadership, including SATCM tasks – such as “Research on the relationship between deficiency of kidney-YANG and hormonalosteonecrosis and the prevention and treatment with Chinese medicine” , “Effects of kidney-tonifying formula on osteonecrosis volume”, and “Research of the facing 21^stCentury Chinese medicine teaching modes and models” - and Natural Science Foundation of Zhejiang Province projects – such as “Protective effects of Jinkui Shenqi pills on exposed spinal cord in Wistar rates vertebral metastases”, research achievements of which gained 5 provincial and ministerial prizes;

Has compiled 7 publications as chief editor and/or assistant editor and published more than 20 academic articles; and

Has trained more than 40 masters and now is mentoring 25 graduate candidates.
