Graduated from the Department of Chinese Medicine, Zhejiang Chinese Medical College (former of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University) in 1983 as a bachelor and later gained the master’s degree in Basic Theories of Chinese Medicine from the same college in 1986; in 2000, completed the doctoral program in Chinese internal medicine in Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine; and went to the University of Tokyo, Japan as a visiting scholar on MoE Government Funded Overseas Study Scheme in the following year, receiving training in theDepartment ofGastroenterology, School of Medicine;

Currently serves as director of the Office of Graduate Affairs, ZJ CMU, standing member of Chinese Medical Association The Internal Canon of Medicine Subcommittee, standing member of Zhejiang Province Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine Committee, and member of Zhejiang Colleges and Universities Graduate Education Society;

Has more than two decades of experience in teaching, clinical and research work of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and as an instructor, takes courses including “The Inner Canon of Yellow Emperor”, “Basic Theories of Chinese Medicine”, and “The Progress of Chinese Internal Medicine”.

Is mainly focused on the treatment of Chinese internal medicine associated diseases and specializes in the treatment of intestinal, gastric, cardiac, and gallbladder diseases with integrative western-Chinese medicine;

In recent years, has conducted the research of classical TCM doctrines of spleen and stomach and prevention of intestinal and gastric diseases with Chinese medicine, the research and development of products for intestinal health purpose, and the study of the nature of TCM syndrome and its effect regulatory mechanism for inflammatory bowel diseases, irritable bowel syndrome, intestinal flora disorder, ulcerative colitis-associated colorectal cancer and other diseases through methods like flora separation and detection, proteomics, cell signal transduction and gene expression;

Has chaired 9 tasks and projects granted by MoE, Natural Science Foundation of Zhejiang Province and Science Technology Department of Zhejiang Province, and now is conducting 3 tasks and projects, of which the research achievements have gained two 3^rdprizes of the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province and three 2^ndand 3^rdprizes of the Heath Department of Zhejiang Province;

Has compiled 6 publications including “Detailed Annotation to the Inner Canon of Yellow Emperor in ModernVernacular Chinese” either as chief editor or as assistant editor, and published more 50 academic articles;

Has trained 7 graduates and now is mentoring 2 doctoral students and 5 master students.
