Studied under prestigious Chinese medicine specialist for five years from 1973; got enrolled in Zhejiang Chinese Medical College as one of the first NCEE students after NCEE was resumed in 1977; and graduated in 1984 with a master’s degree;

Now serves as professor, chief physician of TCM, doctoral supervisor of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University, Shanghai University of Chinese Medicine, and California Graduate School of Traditional Chinese Medicine, one of National 4^thInstructors for Academic and Experience Inheritance from Senior Chinese Medicine Specialists, one of Young and Middle-Aged Specialists with Outstanding Contributions in Zhejiang Province, Distinguished Instructors in Colleges and Universities of Zhejiang Province, and Distinguished Chinese Medicine Physicians of Zhejiang Province, a researcher of Zhejiang Distinguished Chinese Medicine Physician Research Institute, one of carder health care specialists of Zhejiang Health Products Committee, and one of SATCM Priority Subject Leaders;

Also holds concurrent posts as standing member of National Chinese Medicine Diagnosis Commission, and the first deputy director of Zhejiang Spleen and Stomach Diseases Commission;

Has been engaged in the basic and clinical research of Chinese medicine on diagnosis and treatment of digestive system diseases;

Has chaired and participated in more than 20 national, provincial and ministerial tasks, and gained the national 2^ndprize for teaching achievements, the 1^stand 2^ndprizes of the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province for teaching achievements, the 2^ndand 3^rdprizes of the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province for science and technology, the 3^rdprize of the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province for excellent achievements, the 1^stand 2^ndprizes for excellent research achievements in educational science of Zhejiang Province, the 2^ndprize for major research achievements of Zhejiang “9^thFive-Year Plan” Educational Science, the 1^stprize for Zhejiang Colleges and Universities Research Achievements, the 1^stand 2^ndprizes for Sci-Tech Progress in the Field of Chinese Medicine of Zhejiang Province, and the 2^ndprize for Sci-Tech Progress in the Field of Medicine of Zhejiang Province, amounting to more than 20 prizes;

Has published more than 120 academic particles and another more than 30 monographs and translation works, including 1 work gaining the 2^ndprize of Excellent Sci-Tech Book in East China and 8 works gaining SATCM Excellent Article Award and Zhejiang Excellent Article Award for Natural Science; and

Has completed the mentorship to 12 doctors and now is mentoring 9 doctoral students.
