Graduated from Zhejiang University with a bachelor in Biochemistry in 1985; continued the Master’s Program in Pharmacy in 1986; went to the University Osaka as visiting scholar in 1991; and gained the title of Distinguished Young Scientist of Zhejiang Province in 1997;

Currently serves as professor and postgraduate and doctoral supervisor of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University;

Holds concurrent posts as member of both CFDA Cosmetics Safety Subcommittee and CFDA cosmetics review panel, standing member of China Health Inspection Association Health Products Subcommittee, invited member for MoH Cosmetics Standards Subcommittee, member of ZJFDA Cosmetics Subcommittee, and member of the review panel for MoE and MoST Major Sci-Tech Projects and for Zhejiang Government Sci-Tech Progress Prizes;

Also has long served as independent director of a couple of listed companies including Jinling Pharm, Wuhan Jianmin, and Kunming Pharm;

Has chaired and undertaken National “9^thFive-Year Plan” sci-tech development projects, MoE and MoH major projects, and Natural Science Foundation of Zhejiang Foundation projects, Zhejiang Major Sci-Tech Specialties, Priority Projects of Science Department of Zhejiang Province, totaling more than 20 tasks and projects;

Has developed 3 new TCM drugs and gained 2 licenses for such new drugs;

Has filed 6 patent applications (4 of which have been granted the patent);

Has published more than 30 academic papers and compiled 3 planning textbooks including the Development of New TCM Drugs;

Has long been engaged in the development and exploitation of Chinese medicine resources and the development and research of TCM drugs for external use;

The achievements of projects and tasks that have been chaired/undertaken by him helped to win 7 prizes, including 2^ndprize(s) and 3^rdprize(s) for the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province Sci-Tech Porgress and the prize(s) for ZJ CMU Sci-Tech Progress; and

Has trained over 20 masters and doctors.
