Graduated from Zhejiang Chinese Medical University in 1982 as a bachelor and currently serves as director of TCM Teaching and Research Section of the university;

Also holds concurrent posts as CACM Medicine TCM Basic Theories standing committee member and vice chair of the board of CSCS TCM Commodities Branch;

Is retained by SATCM TCM Practitioners Certification Center as an expert for examination paper assignment and review, and used to participate in the assignment and review of examination papers for National Licensed TCM Practitioners and Chinese Medical Physician Intermediate Certifications between 2005 and 2009 and the assignment and review of examination papers for CADGEDC National On-Job Doctoral Degree Examination;

Was retained by Chinese Pharmacopoeia Committee as member of the subcommittee “Clinical Guide to the Chinese Pharmacopoeia” of Chinese Pharmacopoeia, 2010 Edition, participating in the revision of Chinese Pharmacopoeia 2010 Edition and Clinical Standards for Slices of Prepared Herbs, and the origination of Clinical Guide to the Chinese Pharmacopoeia;

Is engaged in teaching, research and clinical work of Chinese herbology and takes up courses including Chinese Herbology, Medicinal Commodity Science, and TCM Drugs Dispensing Science at multiple levels, with the research directed to Thetheory of TCM drug properties and clinical actions and The research of a main Zhejiang native herb - cordyceps sobolifera;

Has chaired and participated in 8 tasks from National Natural Science Foundation of China, Science and Technology Department of Zhejiang Province, Zhejiang Provincial Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Zhejiang Education Committee, and now is undertaking 3 tasks;

Among researches of these tasks, two passed the provincial sci-tech achievement appraisal and gained one 3^rdprize for Zhejiang sci-tech progress in the field of TCM;

Has participated in the development of 3 new TCM drugs;

Has published 21 monographs, of which 3 were compiled by him as chief editor and 4 were compiled as assistant editor, and the Medicinal Commodity Science was identified as “11^thFive-Year Plan” National Planning Textbook;

Has published more than 20 papers on national and provincial journals and gained the National Level-1 Society/Association Excellent Academic Paper Award, and has been named the Distinguished Teacher of ZJ CMU for seven years in a row from 2001;

Has trained 6 masters and now is mentoring 3 graduate candidates.
