Graduated from Zhejiang Medical University with a bachelor’s degree in 1982, and later gained the MM and MD from Peking University in 1988 and 1994 respectively;

Used to serve as vice president ofStomatology Hospital of ZJU between 1999 and 2010 and now holds the post of dean of School of Stomatology, ZJ CMU and deputy dean of School of Clinical Medicine – II;

Once studies in Yamagata University, Japan and National University of Bern, Switzerland in 1999 and 2004 respectively as a senior visiting scholar;

In the meantime, holds concurrent posts as academician of International Dental Academy, executive director of Chinese Stomatological Association (CSA), member of National Commission on Teaching Instructions, permanent member of CSA Termporomandibular Joint Disease Subcommittee, CSA Stomatology Teaching Subcommittee, and CSA Oral Implantology Subcommittee, vice president of Zhejiang Stomatological Association, and deputy director of Zhejiang Physicians Association Stomatology Branch;

Holds concurrent posts as member of the editorial board for such as Chinese Journal of Stomatology, Chinese Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Yearbook of Chinese Stomatology, Shanghai Journal of Stomatology, and Journal of Oral Science Research;

In recent years, has published over 200 papers regarding temporomandibular joint disorders and dental implantology on academic journals both at home and aboard; participated in the editing and compilation of 9 monographs as either chief editor or editor; and undertaken and participated in 17 research projects, among which the research achievements of 15 projects were granted prizes for Zhejiang Sci-Tech Progress;

Currently, is undertaking 4 research projects from National Natural Science Foundation and Switzerland ITI Research Foundation, which mainly focus on the diagnosis, treatment and research of temporomandibular joint disease and oral implantology;

Has trained 15 MDs and 34 MMs and now is mentoring 3 doctoral candidates.
