Graduated from Zhejiang Chinese Medical College in 1982, completed the master’s degree program in Shanghai University of Chinese Medicine in 1987, received the title of professor and chief physician (TCM) in 1999 and was listed as a doctoral supervisor in 2003;

Used to serve as director of the Teaching and Research Section of Chinese Medicine Diagnostics of ZJCMU, deputy director of the Department of Basic Courses, director of President Office, and dean of the School of Basic Medical Sciences;

Currently holds the post of secretary and deputy dean of the School of Basic Medical Sciences, and executive deputy director of the Institute of Clinical Foundation of Chinese Medicine;

Also holds concurrent posts as deputy director of National Professional Theories of Diagnostics of Chinese Medicine, executive director of National Professional Committee of Basic Theories of Chinese Medicine, director of Zhejiang Professional Committee of Basic Theories of Chinese Medicine, deputy director of Zhejiang Professional Committee of Respiratory Diseases of Integrative Medicine, and deputy director of Zhejiang Professional Committee of Health Care and Rehabilitation of Chinese Medicine;

Is an academic leader of national priority subject “Clinical Foundation of Chinese Medicine” and the subject “Clinical Foundation of Chinese Medicine” in accordance with Zhejiang Chinese Medicine Renowned Subjects Construction Project, with the focus mainly on the modern study of syndromes of the clinical foundation of Chinese medicine;

Specializes in the study of gene expression of both the classical and nonclassical formulas on regulatinginternal organasthenia syndromes (i.e. spleen and stomach diseases, respiratory diseases, and kidney diseases) and the research of differential membrane proteomics;

Has chaired 16 tasks funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China and other provincial/ministerial, departmental and bureau-level programs, and gained one 2ndprize for national teaching achievement, one 1stprize and one 2ndprize of the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province for Excellent Teaching Achievement, five prizes for Zhejiang sci-tech progress, one 1stprize of the Science Technology Department of Zhejiang Province for Sci-Tech Progress, and eight 2ndand 3rdprizes for sci-tech progress in the field of Chinese medicine;

Has published more than 70 academic articles and another 6 monographs as chief editor, including “An Introduction to Traditional Chinese Medicine” and “Experimental Chinese Medicine”;

Has completed the mentorship to a dozen of doctoral students and more than 20 master students and now is mentoring 2 doctoral candidates and 8 graduate candidates;

Used to study under the national prestigious senior physician – professor Zhiqing LU, excels at the treatment of bronchial asthma, stomach disease and cardiovascular disease in particular, and was once awarded the title of National Distinguished Instructor by MoE and the former Ministry of Personnel.
