Yiping GONG, professor, doctoral supervisor, and chief physician of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University;

Graduated from Zhejiang Chinese Medical University (former of ZJ CMU) with a bachelor’s degree in 1982 and gained the master’s degree in 2001 from the same university;

Currently is the responsible person of Zhejiang Province TCM Diagnostics Provincial Quality Course, responsible person of TCM Diagnostics Provincial Priority Subject, and director of Teaching and Research Section of TCM Diagnostics;

Also holds concurrent posts as standing member of National TCM Diagnostics Committee, member of Zhejiang Association of Integrative Medicine Cardiovascular Subcommittee, and member of ZJAIM Rehabilitation Subcommittee;

Used to serve as an instructor of courses “Basic Theories of Chinese Medicine” and “Internal Canon of Medicine” and now is teaching “TCM Diagnostics”;

Is engaged in the teaching, research and clinical work of traditional Chinese medicine diagnostics, with researches mainly directed to the study of basic theories and laws of clinical Chinese medicine and its inheritance;

Has chaired 9 tasks and projects granted by Natural Science Foundation of Zhejiang Province and from provincial Quality Courses, provincial Education Reform Project, and departments and bureaus of Zhejiang Province;

Has published over 30 academic articles, with research achievements having gained one 3^rdprize of the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province for Sci-Tech Progress and one 2^ndand one 3^rddepartmental/bureau-level prizes for sci-tech innovation;

Has compiled 5 academic monographs such as “Chinese-English Traditional Chinese Medicine Tongue Diagnosis” and “Chromatic Illustrated Atlas of Tongue Diagnosis in Chinese Medicine (Chinese-English)” a chief editor and 3 textbooks as assistant editor, and participated in the compilation of 11 national planning textbooks as editorial board member;

Has trained 1 doctor and 7 masters and now is mentoring 3 doctoral students and 3 master students.
